American Muslims Against Terrorism and Extremism (AMATE) is joint project sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. All efforts and initiatives were created and are being led by Masjid Muhammad “The Nations Mosque”. The grant, designed and maintained by “credible and authentic” Muslims provides positive counternarratives to violent extremism domestically. AMATE actively engages domestic stakeholders in order to raise awareness about the threat of violent extremism, while tapping into their 40 years of experience of providing alternative narratives and solutions to the problem of violent extremism.
